The San Francisco 49ers Pro Football Club was founded in 1946 as part of the all American Football Conference and later joined the National Football League in 1950.The San Francisco Home Stadium is known as Monster park.The San Francisco 49ers Uniform colors are Red and gold. While they are on the road their uniforms are Gold pants and White shirts, also while at home the Uniforms are Gold pants and Red shirts. The helmet design is Gold with intertwined "SF" in White on Red Oval.The San Francisco earned its name from the surge of goldminers to the San Francisco area during 1849, thus the nickname the San Francisco 49ers.

It is the only name the team has been affiliated with and San Francisco is the only city in which it has resided. The san Francisco 49ers have the privilege of being known as the team of the eighties, due to their influence that decade by winning four Super Bowls.The 49ers Being part of the All-American Football Conference reached the AAFC Champioonship game in 1949.San Francisco returned to the postseason in 1957 as part of the National Football league, under head coach Frankie Albert.Dick Nolan arrived in 1968 and biult up an elaborate defence, and the wisdom of quarterback John Brodie helped San Francisco reach the playoffs for three straight seasons beginning in 1970.Bill walsh became head coach in 1979, walsh and rookie Quarterback named Joe Montana piloted in an era of unpredcedented strength and success for the San Francisco 49ers.Walsh won coach of the year honors for steering San Francisco to 13 regular season wins and a victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl XVI. Carrying San Francisco into the Super Bowl was a last-minute touchdown pass from Montana to Dwight Clark that resulted in an NFC championship; it became known in football history as "The Catch."The folowing players of the San Francisco 49ers were honoured for their Various contributions to the team and the National footnball League as a whole

when they were inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame.Bob St Clair also known as the "Greek", holds the distinction of being one of the few players in history to have spent almost his entire playing career in the same city, playing in the same stadium. The San Francisco 49ers drafted Bob St Clair in 1953. In 2001, as a tribute for playing a total of 17 season and 189 home games at Kezar Stadium, the city of San Francisco renamed the stadium's field in honor of St. Clair.Bill Walsh was the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers.Walsh was appointed in 1979, under him the 49ers won Super Bowl championships in 1982, 1985 and 1989.Joe Montana was a Quarterback and also known as "the comeback kid" and widely considered as one of the best in his line of trade, all over the National Football League. He became the only player to win three Super Bowl MVP awards after leding the San Francisco 49ers to four Super Bowls, 1982, 1985, 1989 and 1990.

Ronnie Lott was a Cornerback, Free Safety and strong safety for the National Football League.The San Francisco 49ers drafted Ronnie Lott in the 1st round of the 1981 National Football League draft.Other Inductees are Leo Nomellini, Hugh McElhenny,  Y.A. Tittle, John henry Johnson, Bill Walsh Jimmy Johnson, Dave Wilcox and lastly Joe Perry.The San Francisco 49ers Retired the following numbers, 12 belonging to John Brodie, 16 that was worn by Joe Montana, 34 belonging to Joe Perry,37 worn by Jimmy Johnson, 39 belonging to Hugh McElhenny, 42 for Ronnie Lott, 70 belonging to Charlie Krueger, 73 to Leo Nomellini, 79 to Bob St.Clair and last but not least number 87 which was worn by Dwight Clark.
